BME7900 Seminar: Bryan Bryson (MIT)
Location
Weill Hall 226
Description
Engineering the host-pathogen interface
Mycobacterium tuberculosis is the leading cause of infectious disease death in the world with no licensed protective vaccine. The Bryson Lab uses a combination of systems biology, protein engineering, molecular immunology and microbiology to develop new tools and concepts that may accelerate vaccine development and new TB therapeutics.
Bio:
Bryan Bryson obtained an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering at MIT followed by a Ph.D. in biological engineering at MIT. He then went to Harvard to study Mtb pathogenesis as a postdoc. He joined the MIT faculty in 2018 and is an associate professor of biological engineering and a core member of the Ragon Institute of Mass General, MIT, and Harvard.
